The Great Patty Caper is a special from season 7.

Plot

When Mr. Krabs gives SpongeBob the only key to the vault holding the Krabby Patty's secret ingredient, SpongeBob vows to guard it. But as soon as SpongeBob and Patrick board the train to retrieve the ingredient, the key is mysteriously missing. Who could have stolen the key? Was it the sneaky Plankton? Or was it the "butler"?

Two books based on this episode, "The Great Patty Caper" and "The Great Train Mystery", were released in September.
The original title for this episode was Krabby Patty No More. It was then changed to The Great Patty Caper.
This episode aired on 11/11/10.
It is revealed by Perch Perkins that Johnny's real name is Elaine.

There is a fish skeleton in the freezer. It could be a spoof of a scene in Star Wars when there is a skeleton in the Wampa's snowcave.

How could the main engine unit of the locomotive possibly be able to run without the tender?

The tender contains the fuel supply!

The Oceanic Express train varys in length during the episode, in one scene, the train shows the locomotive, 3 passenger cars & the guards van, but when SpongeBob & Patrick chase Plankton to the locomotive , the train seems to be much longer.
The tender of the locomotive looks more like a freight wagon than a tender, the tender's missing a water tank.
