Plot
Before we begin, there is 3 different versions of the story, one by Mr. Krabs, one by Plankton and one by Karen. This is one of the stories...
Patchy Segments
Patchy The Pirate and Potty the Parrot are back and they are going to be part of the restaurant: The Poop Deck! However, Potty is dissatisfied with all of Patchy's burger dishes, patchy gets a tantrum, then they do not be friends anymore. But then, Patchy realizes that he doesn't like his own recipes either. Later, Patchy dicovers that Potty is the Manager, and now the restaurant is running out of doggy bags (because the people don't like the food). Later, Patchy and Potty are replaced by a better employee, a gorilla in chef human clothes. However, Patchy is the only one who gets thrown at food by the ape...
Undersea Story
When Mr. Krabs' story starts, it shows Plankton and Eugene being good friends and such. At school the kids there teased at them (I think the kids that teased at Plankton And Mr.Krabs learned their lesson that bullying is wrong). One day all the kids are at Stinky Burgers eating burgers. They always go down there for lunch. But one day it runs out of business because of food poisoning and shuts down. Both Mr. Krabs and Plankton decide to work there and make their recipe together. The next day, the customers come back and try the new burgers but they spit them out and chuck them in the bin. The two friends keep on trying, but the same thing happens. Eventually, they make best burger after Plankton slams the door while leaving after fighting with Mr. Krabs and the ingredients fall from a shelf into the pot with the "formula". This burger is later to be called the Krabby Patty. They fight over the formula, but because Plankton is so small, Mr. Krabs overpowers him, claims the formula, and later makes the Krusty Krab as a little miniature form of the restaurant that he could carry at school. (The formula is the thing that made Mr. Krabs and Plankton sworn enemies). Plankton then tells his side of the story. Plankton's computer wife bursts in and tells what really happened, as she was a security camera which recorded the fight. Plankton then steals the formula while nobody is paying attention and jumps on Karen, who is wheeling around in circles while Mr. Krabs and SpongeBob chase them.
Trivia/Goofs
- This is the first episode to feature main characters in true form in the title card, because they usually only use a background and letter fonts. The second episode to do this process is The Two Faces of Squidward. The third is episode was "What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?"The fourth was The Krabby Kronicle.
- Plankton revealed to tell Mr. Krabs what money could do.
- This is the first time where in SpongeBob interacted with Karen, Plankton's wife (possibly because her voice actress is married to Tom Kenny).
- In one scene, SpongeBob revealed he made his first Krabby Patty when he was just a little baby.
- Mr. Krabs and Plankton were bullied when they were kids.
- When Plankton and Mr. Krabs were children and friends, Mr. Krabs sold Krabby Patties for one dollar.
- Mr. Krabs and Plankton used to go to a nursery home.
- Mr. Pirateson was played by Bill Fagerbakke
- In this episode, Plankton and Mr. Krabs made the recipe for the Krabby Patty formula, but in episode Enemy In-Law, it stated that the formula is an old Krabs family recipe, though most likely Mr. Krabs was lying.
- The original Krabby Patty recipe contained a pinch of chum. This is likely the origin of Plankton's Chum Burger and the name Chum Bucket
- Old Man Jenkins' skin color changes in his first appearance in this episode he is green but in his next appearance he is bright tan.
- This is the only full-length half-hour episode to not have Patrick Star, but they all have Bill Fagerbakke (see above).
- In the flashbacks, Mr. Krabs' eyelashes disappear a few times in the course of the episode, including the moment he and Plankton look in the oven when making their burger.
- It is revealed in this episode that Mr. Krabs and Plankton were born the same year, day, and month.
- In the flashback, the Bikini Bottom Weekly headline reads: "Plab Patty" KO's Old Man Jenkins. "Plab" is a combination of Plankton and Krab.
- If Old Man Jenkins is old now, how can he be old when Mr. Krabs and Plankton were kids?
- If Old Man Jenkins died from eating a "Plab" Patty, how can he still be living now? The only way this is is because that's a different Old Man Jenkins from the others.
- The science teacher where Plankton and Krabs learn looks like the REAL Old Man Jenkins, but younger.
- This is the first time a special is actually named the same name as the commercial name. The second is Pest of the West and the third is SpongeBob SquarePants vs. The Big One.
- In Goo Goo Gas Plankton is very small when he is a baby, but in this episode, he is the same size as Mr. Krabs's eye.
- Plankton somehow has the same voice since birth to adult.
