Trivia/Goofs
- The quantum giggle theory book is written by Stephen Hawkgill, a pun on Stephen Hawking.
- Patrick lights a match on his leg. This implies Patrick has sandpaper legs.
- In the early scene where SpongeBob pops up from in front of the grill, Squidward is being annoyed, if you go by Fear Of A Krabby Patty, Squidward could've just zipped the window shut, no?
- This episode was originally titled "Unfunny Pants", but when it aired on Nick, it was changed to "Laughbox", and then was later changed to "Funny Pants".
- After Patrick slips on a banana peel several times, he says "Okay, right foot first..." but he actually picks up his left leg. He may have done this because he is an idiot.
- The title card is similar to the title card from Squirrel Jokes.
- When SpongeBob goes to Sandy for help, Sandy tells him that laughter is not caused by his laughbox, but later, he still believes it when Squidward comes to apologize.
- When Sandy is explaining the science of laughter she pulls down a diagram of a fish. However, the diagram shows the fish with lungs even though fish have gills.
- When they show the title card there is a piece of music that was in the episode The Lost Mattress.
- when SpongeBob comes out of the ground after going a day without laughing, he laughs but nothing comes out. (implying that he cant laugh anymore.) however, Squidward tells him that he could laugh the whole time. if he could laugh the whole time, why did nothing come out at first when its so easy for SpongeBob to laugh?
