- Originally, Squidward did not want to be Captain Magma; however, Mr. Krabs forced him to because if he didn't, he would be fired, even though he hates his job.
- Captain Magma is a parody of the Fantastic Four's Human Torch.
- If Captain Magma was weak to water, how could he be underwater?
- He is called Professor Magma in Bad Guy Club For Villains, and is not Squidward's alter ego in the episode.
- In BGCV he has a different appearance.
