"Spy Buddies" is an episode from Season 5.

Plot

A Plankton-esque figure is seen quietly moving in the Krusty Krab with the lights off, although it is actually Mr. Krabs who is ensuring the safety of the Krabby Patty Secret Formula, since Plankton has gone a while without attacking the Krusty Krab. For this reason, he asks SpongeBob and Patrick to spy on Plankton, and they gladly accept it. Stealing advanced spy equipment from Sandy (such as a small camera, a jetpack, and a pair of pants that have lasers and walkie talkies) by using it against her, SpongeBob and Patrick proceed to follow Plankton, reporting his actions to Mr. Krabs. The chase soon escalates when Plankton begins to hear them, and then is lit on fire by SpongeBob and Patrick's magnifying glass. As a result, they lose track of Plankton. Later at night, they sneak into the Chum Bucket, but are quickly caught by Plankton. They are treated like customers and are gven menus. However, the laser pants Patrick was wearing destroys the Chum Bucket. Plankton then gets into a blimp and approaches the Krusty Krab. Mr. Krabs then counters by firing his customers at Plankton, but them Patrick falls into the cannon and pierces the blimp, causing it to destroy itself and the Krusty Krab. Plankton is seen with the formula, yelling in victory. It is then shown that Mr. Krabs and Plankton switched places as a part of a bet to see if stealing the formula really was as hard as it was for Plankton. The episode ends with two Patricks side by side laughing.

Trivia/Goofs

Plankton is using the Robot Mr. Krabs in this episode, which had a very major role in Imitation Krabs.
This is the second time Mr. Krabs and Plankton switch roles. The first was in The Algae's Always Greener
Mary makes a cameo appearance again.
'Guppies R Us' is a parody of Babies "R" Us and Toys "R" Us.
The intro to this episode is the same song as the credits to Action League NOW: The Series.
Patrick does not seem to worry when the Krabby Patty exploded; the reason was starfish such as himself can regenerate themselves.
This is the first and only time there has been a front combination lock at the Krusty Krab.
The combination to the lock is 2,6,8 and 4.
When Patrick is looking at SpongeBob through the straw, SpongeBob parodies James Bond, with Bond's pistol being replaced by SpongeBob's spatula.
After the Chum Bucket gets destroyed, the setting suddenly turns to daytime.
The quote "This patty will self-destruct in ten seconds" is a reference to the film Mission: Impossible, when the tape says "This message will self-destruct in ten seconds."
When this episode is on Nickleodeon, the info mistakenly calls it SpyBob.
On the chalkboard, when Mr. Krabs put baby clothes, the way he put it, it looks like he put baby and clothes separately, like saying Plankton bought a baby and clothes.
It is unknown what Plankton was using the Mail Stamp for .
It is shown that there is a blimp under the Chum Bucket.
