Plot

SpongeBob is in the Krusty Krab, singing a song, "Musical Doodle", which annoys Squidward. He attempts to drown out SpongeBob's singing by turning on the radio, but the radio is playing the same song. SpongeBob stays in to listen to the song, until Mr. Krabs asks him to go. SpongeBob sings and flies through the air, and finds a record shop. He buys it and goes home to play it on Gary's record player underneath his shell. He goes to bed, but finds himself whistling the song, so he listens to it all night. The next day, when he's at work, Mr. Krabs comes to tell SpongeBob off, but SpongeBob can only hear the song. He flies through the Krusty Krab, annoying all the customers. He later writes "doodle" all over the walls and then runs out, singing "Musical Doodle". Sandy is coming into the Krusty Krab at that time and finds out about his earworm. Sandy, Mr. Krabs, Squidward and Patrick all run into SpongeBob's house. Mr. Krabs sings a sea shanty, but fails to get rid of the earworm. Sandy sings a western song, but that fails too. Squidward then plays his clarinet badly, causing the earworm to get angry and leave. Squidward is then seen going to bed, humming the song he made up, but the earworm goes inside Squidward through his eyelid and he screams.
