The pages of a book telling the story of SpongeBob's life are spread across Bikini Bottom after falling out of the book. At the Krusty Krab, SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, and Mr. Krabs are informed of the situation by Bubbles the Dolphin, who then turns the group into superheroes. Together, SpongeBob and his friends must use their superpowers to receive the pages. However, their superpowers are only available in their superhero forms, and such forms last for a limited amount of time, so the player must help the group throughout their adventure.
