Plot

SpongeBob discovers that his breakfast cereal, Kelp-O, has an offer for a free toy. Once he responds to the offer, he must wait patiently for the toy to arrive. SpongeBob is getting impatient, so he sets up camp right next to his mailbox, determined to be present when the mailman shows up with his treasure. He gets frustrated when Sandy and Gary distract him with feeding and karate, flipping Sandy and telling Gary the "importance" of waiting for the toy. Patrick then comes and tells SpongeBob that he missed his own surprise birthday. Eventually the toy arrives and Patrick "breaks" it, leaving SpongeBob devastated. However, Squidward shows him later that its head, arms, and legs are supposed to spring off, and reattaches them.

SpongeBob bought more than 99 Kelp-O boxes.
This was not the first time SpongeBob did not receive a toy from the cereals, in the episode Shanghaied SpongeBob ate the whole cereal but he did not receive a toy.
SpongeBob had poured the Kelp-O with out any milk. But after he had eaten it, he has milk all over his face.
This episode is based on a SpongeBob book, SpongeBob gets a string, and Patrick breaks it.
