Plot

SpongeBob and Patrick are at Squidward's house and they are bored. SpongeBob goes through a chest of toys and games, looking for something to do, but there is nothing that they want to do. Squidward kicks them out of his house. As they are walking around, a helicopter flies by and drops a giant sign that says "It's Coming!" SpongeBob and Patrick run down the road passing additional signs, reading "Almost there!" "Here it is!" "Welcome to Bikini Bottom's Newest..." and "Toy Store!" finally ending up at a sign reading "The Toy Barrel, open soon!" but there is no toy store there! While SpongeBob and Patrick are crying in disappointment, a crane comes by and sets down the toy store. SpongeBob and Patrick play in the toy store until it is about to close. Neither of them want to leave, so Patrick suggests that they hide so that they can stay in the toy store all night. After the toy store is locked up, the lights turn off and they become scared by the dark and the prospect of toys coming to life to get them. They become especially scared when they see a shadow moving towards them (it is a walking wind-up toy). In preparation for battle, they put on headbands made of licorice rope and bandoleers holding bottles of bubble soap. They blow bubbles at the walking wind-up toy, but they do nothing to it. When it stops walking, Patrick and SpongeBob are relieved, but Patrick picks it up and winds it up again. When the store re-opens the next day, SpongeBob and Patrick run outside screaming, confusing little children that are waiting to enter the store. Patrick, realizing that the toy store is open again, runs inside exclaiming "Hey, they're open! I love toys!"

Trivia/Goofs

• This was the second episode to premiere during Nickelodeon's "The Bob Squad."
• The part where it shows Patrick wrapping the headband around his head is a parody of "Rambo."
• When Patrick and SpongeBob were running freaked out, if Patrick came from the screen (fourth wall breaks), how does he get to the back of the toy store if he ran to the front?
