Master Udon is the main antagonist of the episode Karate Island. Udon is the fish that calls SpongeBob to come to the mysterious Karate Island. He is actually a con man because he captures SpongeBob and tries to make him buy real estate. He has quite a few recruits and orders them to stop Sandy from getting to him, though they are unsuccessful. Sandy then confronts Udon himself, and he is revealed to have extremely large muscles. Despite this, Udon loses a karate fight to Sandy and falls from his condo, landing in the water and possibly dying until he returns at the very end of the episode (as a pun joke). He is voiced by actor Pat Morita.

Looks
Master Udon is a green fish with large eyebrows and what appears to be a goatee. He wears an orange robe with a yellow belt, which hides his extremely muscular body. He wears a red speedo underneath his robe.
Role in episode
He is first seen standing at the top of the rocky the mountain at Karate Island. SpongeBob and Sandy confront him, and Udon has some "thugs" attack to test SpongeBob's karate skills. SpongeBob defeats all the thugs, and Udon decides to crown him "King of Karate."
During the "coronation," Sandy leaves, and Udon tells SpongeBob that she's "missing out on the opportunity of a lifetime." SpongeBob is then chained down to his throne, and Udon takes out a pen from his robe before watching Sandy run back to the island. he then tells SpongeBob that Sandy will never reach him, and she must pass through the "Four Floors of Fear" before she can do so.
After his henchmen are defeated, Udon is confronted by Sandy, who is now wearing a yellow-and-black jumpsuit. He calls her an "impressive squirrel," adding that she "even made a costume change." However, he refuses to release SpongeBob and traps Sandy in a bird cage. He then reveals that SpongeBob can't leave until he signs a contract for a real estate timeshare on what is revealed to be "Condo Island," and that if a real Karate Island did exist, he'd be a millionaire. Udon then pulls down a chart and explains that those who invest in a timeshare on Condo Island can see their "equity increase ten-fold."
After Udon asks if SpongeBob and Sandy "would like to set up a timeshare plan," Sandy breaks the cage and declares "I won't give in to your timeshare vacation scam!" Udon proposes that she "give in to my fists" and rips his robe off, revealing that he has extremely large muscles almost everywhere. Sandy rps off her jumpsuit, and after flexing their muscles, they both fight. Sandy gets the upper hand, throws Udon on the ground repeatedly and, soon after, in the air and kicks him in the face. Udon crashes through one of his condo's walls and falls to his apparent death into the ocean, and Sandy gloats "You're in the soup now, Udon!"
At the end of the episode, Squidward Tentacles arrives, proclaiming himself the "King of Clarinets." Udon, who survived the fall and has reverted to his normal state, is shown on top of the mountain again, ready to greet Squidward to become "King of Clarinets," and the episode ends.

Trivia
- At the end of the episode, Udon is back to normal after falling from a high distance and greeting Squidward to become "King of Clarinets."
- The way Udon is defeated is similar to how Bruce Lee's character defeats Dr. Land in the movie Game of Death; specifically, they both fall into the ocean in similar fashion.
- As explained above, after defeating Udon, Sandy says "You're in the soup now, Udon!" Udon is actually named after a type of noodle soup served in Japan.
- He presumably works on the 4th floor of the "four floors of fear".
- Udon is the last role Pat Morita had of any significance; he died just after he finished the episode. The episode is dedicated in his memory. Aside from an appearance in Ma and Pa's Big Hurrah, Udon has not appeared again since "Karate Island," likely in part due to Morita's death.
