Design
The Shady Shoals Retirement home is like an average retirement home, it has a huge canteen which people eat from, showers and bedrooms. it is well refurbished and has many places of interest. The exterior though is very average.

- The Shady Shoals first appeared in the episode Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
- Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy lives here and other old sea creatures.
- SpongeBob has been there many times.
- Shady Shoals is the only known retirment home in Bikini Bottom
