SpongeBoy was the original name for SpongeBob SquarePants. The name was created by Stephen Hillenburg but then the name was already trademarked and replaced with SpongeBob. His looks were practically the same as good old Spongie and he most likely had the same voice. In peoples opinions, SpongeBob is a much beter name than SpongeBoy, because SpongeBob is a man and the running gags of the series would be unhillarious...
