While eating pancakes for dinner, Bunny reveals that Cecil has gotten a new job (GrandPat says it's the fifth one he's had this week) as a security guard at Upturn's museum. After finishing his meal, he roller skates to the museum, with Upturn telling him to guard the place, over-dramatically telling Cecil the family horrors it took to build the collection. When Upturn tells him to not let anyone in, Cecil throws everyone out of the joint along with Upturn, who falls flat Wile E. Coyote-style and utters her catchphrase ("I am offended!")

Back at home, Pat realizes that Cecil forgot his special security guard underwear, wanting to bring it back to him. Before Bunny can let him go, she dresses Patrick up as a robber and accidentally tells him how to frighten everyone. Elsewhere, Cecil continues to mess up the museum's art and sculptures, up until Patrick gets to the museum, leaving the bus with all of the fish in it scared out of their minds. Patrick tries to find a way in, and when pulling on the handles won't work, he looks towards a bush with a rock in it. A key then drops out of that rock, for which Patrick throws straight into the glass doors, causing the security breach alarm to go off.

Cecil takes notice of this while cleaning a painting of George Washington's wooden teeth, and looks for the burglar. He crashes into a bucket of paint on a ladder, which drops onto his head; he throws the bucket off, with some white paint on his face still remaining. Patrick and Cecil cross paths while looking for each other, and they confuse each other as a "ghost" and a burglar respectively. They get into a manic chase, even breaking the laws of logic and jumping through paintings. Patrick is eventually tired of hiding, and attempts to stop all of this by setting up a trap for Cecil, which causes the guard to land straight on the floor. Patrick confronts him from the top of a large sculpture, and the two get into a big brawl and create more destruction. After smashing 12 paintings into Pat's head, Cecil realizes it was Patrick all along, and the two reconcile, with Patrick giving him the underwear Cecil deserves.

All of this happens to occur at the wrong time though, as it is now morning and Lady Upturn comes back to her museum. Appalled at the damage they've caused, she forces the two to physically "replace" the paintings they've destroyed. Despite this, the two suffice well, with Cecil even using the security guard underwear as a form of censorship in the sculpture he replaced.
