The Ugly Barnacle is a story that Patrick told to SpongeBob in Something Smells to cheer him up about being "ugly."

This is the story that was told by Patrick in SpongeBob’s Library:
"It’s called "The Ugly Barnacle." Once there was a ugly barnacle. He was so ugly that everyone died. The end."
The story was meant to cheer up SpongeBob, but clearly had the opposite effect.

- Depending on your evaluation of "The End" as a sentence or lack thereof and not counting Patrick’s opening sentence, the story was only 2 or 3 sentences long.
