Therefore, it's likely that Patrick owns multiple pairs of them. 2 pairs are confirmed to exist, one being the pair that explodes, the other's fate unknown, likely also burst off of Patrick sometime after the events of the episode. Either that, or he made a plentitude of them for his wardrobe, and one (or two, potentially) destroyed pairs would not have affected him.
