In the episode, Nick Fishkins is a retail agent who buys people’s houses and sells them for a profit. He first appears in a TV commercial at Patrick Star’s house, where he says "I’m Nick Fishkins and I want to buy your home!" Because of the conversational style of the commercial, Patrick is forced to believe that Nick has literally bought his home without him being able to do anything to stop him. In response, Patrick moves out and joins SpongeBob SquarePants at his house. However, the same commercial airs on SpongeBob’s TV and upon hearing Nick say "Sold!"
