SpongeBoy was the original name for SpongeBob SquarePants. The name was created by Stephen Hillenburg but then the name was already trademarked and replaced with SpongeBob. His looks were practically the same as SpongeBob and he most likely had the same voice. In people's opinions, SpongeBob is a much better name than SpongeBoy.
