Awesome Eddie is very happy sometimes. Squidward calls him and the others in the episode SpongeBob SquarePants vs. The Big One hippies. His friends are Big G, Silent Stan, Twitch and Chip (fish).
Death?
At the end, Awesome Eddie is not with the others, so it is possible he was sacrificed to the Big One.
