As all of his previous birthday presents have been terrible and destructive, Mr. Krabs demands that they do not give him another present this year. Squidward points out that all of the presents were actually from SpongeBob, but Krabs again states he does not want any presents. SpongeBob still insists on getting one, and decides to go to Upturn's to get a gift that he will say is from him and Squidward. Fearing that SpongeBob will again get something stupid, Squidward follows along.

−	SpongeBob and Squidward go to Upturn's, where they first stop at the "dangerous pets" aisle, where Squidward gets attacked by a snake and Patrick. They then go over to a sentimental item section, where a teddy bear advises them to look for clues in Mr. Krabs' house. SpongeBob says that Mr. Krabs and Pearl are heavy sleepers, so loud noises never wake them up.
