Patrick's long lost big sister Sam comes for a visit. When Squidward insults her for being stupid like Patrick, Patrick, Sam, and Squidward have a fight over Squidward's house properties that Sam wants to use for their new rock. Meanwhile SpongeBob tries to prevent the fight, but it isn't going very well, because Patrick and Sam begin to take SpongeBob's sayings, of Sam possibly losing her temper, and Squidward's sayings of his properties being rightfully his, as if SpongeBob and Squidward are saying mean things about Sam, and they end Patrick's friendship with them. Eventually Squidward cannot take it anymore and tries to destroy their rock in retaliation by using a bulldozer or a boulder despite SpongeBob's excuses.

The '''Krabby Patty''' is a dish served at the [[Krusty Krab]], very similar to a Hamburger. Ingredients include Lettuce, Cheese, Tomatoes, Tartar sauce, mayo, flour, tumeric, sea salt, land salt, barnacle shavings, Patty, mustard, ketchup, secret sauce, two buns and onions. According to the trivia book a Krabby Patty costs $2.99, or $0.99 cents on Wednesday and comes with fries and a shake. The most common price of the Krabby Patty is $1.00, but for employees, it costs 25 cents. If the Krusty Krab is a fine restaurant, it costs $25.00. It was not until 1979 when it was started to become sold. In the episode [[Friend or Foe?]], a whole lot of history about the Krabby Patty was revealed like that it was made by accident. Later in the series, the krusty dog was also created by accident when SpongeBob started forming the patties. The krusty dog was later to be removed from the menu when SpongeBob sabotaged one because [[Eugene H. Krabs|Mr. Krabs]] had removed the krabby patty from the menu. The krusty dog never appeared again.

Originally, [[Krabs]] and [[Plankton]] decided to make a burger stand so they can make money like [[Stinky]] who sold [[Stinky Burgers]]. Soon, the Health Department closed down [[Stinky Burgers]]. Krabs and Plankton started to sell the burger but kids couldn't stand it because of its awful taste. The burger poisoned [[Old Man Jenkins]] and he died. Soon, Plankton and Krabs fought over the recipe. Krabs knock over a couple of ingredients and discovered the perfect patty batter. This is how Krabs and Plankton become enemies.

Plankton has tried to steal the Krabby Patty formula since 1979, and failed each time. He has more than 26 plans behind him. The most successful plan was Plan Z, which was to freeze [[Mr. Krabs]] by stealing [[King Neptune]]'s crown, framing [[Mr. Krabs]], and then stealing the Krabby Patty formula, but Plan Z was then ruined at the end.

Revealed in the episode [[Mermaidman vs SpongeBob (Episode)|Mermaidman vs SpongeBob]] it can cure people of hypnosis.

However SB and his friends see him on TV and ruin it because they want to join the fun whether Squidward likes it or not. Later the show is cancelled in favor of a show similar to the performance of the gang on Squidward Chat, called [[Squidward's House Party]] much to Squidward's displeasure.

SpongeBob wakes up and begins singing a Christmas Carol. All of SpongeBob’s friends are preparing for Christmas, and they join in his carol. At the Chum Bucket, Plankton is angered that he gets coal every year for Christmas. Karen tells him that if he weren’t such a jerk he might get something for Christmas. Plankton pulls out a periodic table of elements and adds in extra one onto it, jerktonium, which apparently has the power to turn anyone into a jerk. Plankton is decides to lace every slice of fruit cake with Jerktonium, and give them to people to turn them into raging jerks, so Santa will think Plankton isn't naughty after all and he will be able to get the Krabby Patty secret formula for Christmas.

Plankton leaves the Chum Bucket to begin giving people the fruit cakes, by dispensing these fruit cakes with his latest invention, the JerkMaker 9000. SpongeBob instantly walks up and Plankton gives him a piece of fruit cake. The jerktonium doesn’t affect SpongeBob, so Plankton gives him more fruit cake. SpongeBob eats all of the fruit cake, and Plankton is angered to see it does nothing. He gives SpongeBob a key and goes back inside. SpongeBob spots some Christmas carolers and hands them each a slice of fruit cake. The fish begin experiencing the effects of [[jerktonium]], and they begin to get angry. Plankton comes out and notices that the jerktonium had worked on the fish.

Downtown, SpongeBob begins passing out fruit cakes, and the citizens begin to behave in unacceptably. SpongeBob is oblivious, and he continues to sing. Plankton rides through town on a unicycle, noticing the citizens wreaking havoc on the city and is delighted. SpongeBob passes a little boy on Santa's lap, and he gives Santa a piece of fruit cake. Santa tells the kid to get a job and buy all of the gifts himself and to brush his teeth. The slay driver escapes, and the slay falls off the cliff and crashes. Plankton returns to the Chum Bucket, where Karen tells him his plan has failed, because SpongeBob's heart protects him from jerktonium. Plankton unleashes a robotic SpongeBob onto the streets of Bikini Bottom to ruin SpongeBob’s reputation. The robot begins destroying stuff to ruin Christmas.

SpongeBob begins riding through Bikini Bottom, and he notices everybody being rude to him. The next day on Christmas Eve, SpongeBob notices the townsfolk treating each other poorly. SpongeBob turns to Squidward, and he tells him to go to Sandy's house. The robotic SpongeBob walks up and begins to anger Squidward, who thinks it is SpongeBob. At Sandy’s house, Sandy is rude to SpongeBob, and she does not help him with his problem. SpongeBob tries to leave, but accidentally knocks the fruitcake into an analyzer. Sandy reads that the fruit cake is contaminated with jerktonium. SpongeBob tells her he got the food from Plankton, at which point she calls him an idiot. SpongeBob says he must be the biggest jerk in town because he ate a lot of fruit cake. She scans SpongeBob and tells him he is immune to jerktonium. Sandy uses the analyzer to reveal a formula for the antidote. However, the antidote is a song which SpongeBob hums, and it cures Sandy.

SpongeBob shows up downtown and begins singing to rid everyone of the jerktonium. After everyone is rid of the jerktonium, Santa shows up and tells SpongeBob that everyone in town is on his naughty list besides Plankton. Santa gives Plankton the secret formula, and Santa tells SpongeBob he was the worst of all. The SpongeBob robot shows up and begins wreaking havoc, to which Santa points out that SpongeBob is doing it. The robot tries to destroy Santa, but SpongeBob destroys the robot and saves Santa. Christmas is saved and Mr. Krabs gets the formula back from Plankton. Santa flies off and Patrick sneaks on with him in an attempt to capture him.

There is a big gate in front of Tentacle Acres. It is made out of gold with a sign TENTACLE ACRES in pink ink on top of the gate. When Squidward went to Tentacle Acres, he had a daily routine that he repeated for a fortnight. First he rode his bike like all of the other Octopi and then visited the local supermarket, Full of Health, where he is only known to have bought Canned Bread. The Krusty Krab is known for being established to sell the [[Krabby Patty]] burger. The Krabby Patty was invented by King Krabs, an ancestor of restaurant-founder Eugene H. Krabs as mentioned in the episode, "[[Dunces and Dragons]]". The recipe was kept secret for over 800 years. After the war, Eugene H. Krabs stayed secluded in a deep depression that seemed endless. He inherited his family's secret recipe for the Krabby Patty. Krabs was also a financial wizard, which made his business successful.

The building is known to have been converted from a retirement home known as the "[[Rusty Krab]]." Krabs merely painted a "K" in front of the word "Rusty," thus leading to the name "Krusty Krab", as mentioned in the episode, "[[Krusty Krab Training Video]]". SpongeBob is the first employee of the Krusty Krab to take a break since the Chum Famine of 59', mentioned in the episode [[Hooky]]. The Krusty Krab was almost run out of business from a minor competitor known as the Shell Shack, and once from SpongeBob's short-lived Pretty Patties stand. It also faces continual problems from its main competitor, the [[Chum Bucket]] and its owner, [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton]].

Today, the Krusty Krab uses the latest achievements in fast food technology. Modernization is the heart of the Krusty Krab. As mentioned in the episode, "[[Krusty Krab Training Video]]" Some examples of this technology are as follows:

* Ice Cubes: Imported high-quality temperature devices.

==Changes==

In the episode [[SB-129]], the entire Krusty Krab is spray painted in Chrome in the future and it has a built-in time machine. The only things that are not Chrome is a door hinge from the freezer door and the inside of the time machine. In the episode "[[Bossy Boots]]", Mr. Krabs hires Pearl to help the Krusty Krab while she is on summer break. With the help of SpongeBob, she changed the Krusty Krab into [[The Kuddly Krab]]. It is a Teen Hangout restaurant, which sold only tea and salad. The floor was made of carpet, and there were stuffed animals and other cuddly knickknacks as decorations.

The business failed because Pearl wanted to be fired, as she felt that it cut too much into her social life. SpongeBob took all the decorations home for one year's salary and the Krusty Krab went back to normal. In the episode "[[Squilliam Returns]]", Mr. Krabs lets Squidward temporarily transform the Krusty Krab into a fancy 5-Star restaurant. It was created so that Squidward could impress his highly successful unibrowed rival, [[Squilliam Fancyson]]. This plan failed due to SpongeBob's loss of memory and subsequent temporary insanity, which caused him to tear up the restaurant.

In the episode "[[Le Big Switch]]", a French "exchange chef" from the Fancy! restaurant becomes the cook at the Krusty Krab, and the Krusty Krab is transformed into a five-star French bistro, where Mr. Krabs is ecstatic because he can sell minuscule portions for very expensive prices, including a putrid dish which can only lose its stench by shredding gold on top of it. The French chef does this, much to Mr. Krabs disapproval. Squidward is also very happy because SpongeBob became an exchange chef and went to the Fancy! restaurant where his Krabby Patties were a huge hit even though it was not the type of cuisine suited for the Fancy! restaurant.

Eventually the Krusty Krab bistro goes out of business (they barely had any customers and Mr. Krabs even had to sell Squidward), but in the end SpongeBob brings all the Fancy! customers, who were demanding Krabby Patties to the Krusty Krab, bringing business back to normal. In the episode "[[Selling Out]]", Mr. Krabs was offered a large sum of money to sell the Krusty Krab. He accepted the deal and retired. The new management, the Blandy Franchising Company transformed the Krusty Krab into the [[Krabby O Mondays]]. It was a diner that generated Krabby Patties by machine. However, the secret ingredient was gray sludge. When Mr. Krabs took a job here as a result of retirement-boredom, he found this secret and eventually the diner was destroyed.

Then Blandy sold it back to Mr. Krabs for full price. In the episode "[[Skill Crane]]", Mr. Krabs adds a Skill Crane game to attract "paying costumers". In the episode "[[Wishing You Well]]", Mr. Krabs adds the Eugene Krabs Memorial Wishing Well.
In the episode "[[Krusty Towers]]," Mr. Krabs transformed the restaurant into a hotel in order to gain more profits. He created the Krusty Towers, which was a 17-story hotel that included an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool, a lobby, guest elevator, and an employee elevator (actually a staircase.)

The Hotel was later destroyed when [[Patrick Star]] dived into a swimming pool (it was actually an oversize bathtub) and the swimming pool cracked and got destroyed, and the entire tower got destroyed, with the exception of the top floor (the actual Krusty Krab) In the episode "[[Driven to Tears]]", Mr. Krabs added a drive-thru to the restaurant because there were a lot of people "on the go" those days. However, the drive-thru is not seen in later episodes. In the episode "[[Krabs a la Mode]]", the restaurant is converted into an indoor ice rink, and later a swimming pool, all the while keeping its restaurant status. Plankton turned the thermostat down to bug Mr. Krabs, but success came soon after when the people went skating on frozen patties.

In the episode "[[Mermaidman vs SpongeBob (Episode)|Mermaidman vs SpongeBob]]", Mr. Krabs makes the Krusty Krab Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy themed. The restaurant then included a ball pit and had Krabby kids’ meals with a Mermaid Man figure and a Barnacle Boy eraser. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy also visited, but Plankton made Mermaid Man say he preferred the Chum Bucket over the Krusty Krab in front of the whole restaurant. In the episode, "[[The Krusty Sponge]]", Mr. Krabs, after receiving a review via the television from [[Gene Scallop]], added more sponginess to the Krusty Krab and renamed it the [[Krusty Sponge]].

He added a train around it. But then the soiled yellow "Spongy Patties" caused Mr. Krabs to be arrested. However, he made a deal with [[Judge Horace A. Whopper]], which was to have Squidward give him train rides on the train. In the episode, "[[Grandpappy the Pirate]]", Mr. Krabs, Spongebob, Patrick and Squidward transform the Krusty Krab in a pirate ship to impress Mr. Krab's grandfather. After his Grandpa almost discovers the truth, Mr. Krabs tells the truth by destroying the ship. In [[Jellyfish Hunter]] he added the jelly patty to the menu and put a sign out in the front of the Krusty Krab to try to get people to buy them.

Like the other buildings in [[Bikini Bottom]], the Krusty Krab does not have a constant floor plan. In most episodes, the Krusty Krab's floor plan consists of the main eating area (front part of building), Mr. Krabs' office (back left of building), bathrooms (back right of building) and the kitchen (back center of building). The kitchen features a back door which leads to the dumpster, a walk-in freezer, and a door leading to Mr. Krabs' office. Next to the restroom there is a storage closet, as seen in [[Imitation Krabs]].

In addition, the Krusty Krab has a two-story ceiling. The kitchen, restrooms, and Mr. Krabs' office are all one-story. On top of these three rooms is a storage area, as seen in most episodes. Also, in one episode it was shown that there is a Patty Vault and a Krabby Patty burning furnace in the kitchen which contains a supply of pre-made Krabby Patties. There is also a vat full of tartar sauce in the kitchen in "[[Imitation Krabs]]." In [[SB-129]], the future Krusty Krab has a similar, yet somewhat different layout.

The walk-in freezer is still the same, but there is a door to the right of it, which could be the back door. There is a hallway with a can-opener and a time machine, which is behind the far right door. Another door leads to the main eatery area, although it was never shown. The building's design is based on a New England lobster trap. There are two [[LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants]] sets based on the Krusty Krab. In the front, the Krusty Krab has a parking area, even though cars are usually not seen in it, as well as 5 flags on the roof of the Krusty Krab.

These flags spell out R, I, U, K. In the back of the Krusty Krab, a dumpster is seen in most episodes. (One episode featured the dumpster across the street.) Inside Mr. Krabs' office, on his desk sits a Bikini Bottom Bell Telephone that is chrome in color, and is corded. It has a mechanical bell ringer, and has no dial pad. It does have what may be a rotary dial with no numbers. This is seen seldom.

Despite Mr Krabs cheapness, several episodes show the Krusty Krab has several pieces of state of the art technology, its also shown on several occasions to have many secret passages and secret rooms, for example there is a secret trap door opened by turning the mustache on on of Mr Krabs picture, that leads to a tunnel under the floor, leading to another trap door, next to the exit (Gullible Pants).

The Krusty Krab is usually open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, except on Tuesdays which it stays open until 8:00 p.m. On Sundays, the Krusty Krab is usually closed, although in "[[Squid's Day Off]]" it was open on Sunday, but SpongeBob and Squidward forgot to change the "CLOSED" sign to "OPEN". The restaurant was once open for 24 hours a day for at least 43 days, as a result of [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton's]] plan to keep the [[Chum Bucket]] open 23 hours a day. It is uncertain how long the streak lasted after the 43 days because Mr. Krabs was too tired to remember.

After SpongeBob had a mental breakdown due to exhaustion, and Plankton's plan was thwarted, the Krusty Krab was open for 23 hours a day. It's assumed that the Krusty Krab returned to its usual hours, since later episodes show the employees closing at 12:00 a.m. In "[[New Digs]]", a rule is shown that all employees must arrive on the premises and be punched in by 8:00 a.m. As shown in the episode "[[Graveyard Shift]]," the Krusty Krab was opened for night shifts for at least one night, because of a comment from a customer to Mr. Krabs saying that he would pay money for a Krabby Patty at night.

In [[Fear of a Krabby Patty]], SpongeBob, Krabs, and Squidward were open for 43 days straight by a plan made by [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton]] to exhaust SpongeBob by making him cook 10,000 Krabby Patties.

There are various ways Mr. Krabs uses to advertise the Krusty Krab. The Company's slogan is ''"Come spend your money here."'' Besides having a large sign nearby the building to advertise to road travelers, the Krusty Krab is featured on billboards throughout Sand Mountain. Mr. Krabs once filmed a television commercial in order to gain customers. [[Squidward Tentacles|Squidward]] was the director at first, but then Mr. Krabs directed it to save money since Squidward's commercial plans were too expensive. Mr. Krabs got a prime time special to run the 90-second commercial, at 3:28 AM. The commercial featured Pearl (playing Amy) and Squidward (in a wig, playing Jenny) as teenagers getting their first [[Krabby Patty]] served by [[Eugene H. Krabs|Mr. Krabs]].

Mr. Krabs always tries to find ways to get more customers, by trying to have an addition to the Krusty Krab. His additions are usually cheap and junky. One example is [[Krabby Land Park]], where kids can have fun. It had a slide (which broke down), hose land (hoses over a stick), and other junky playground equipment. He built it so that kids would come and buy Krabby Patties since they were hanging out at the new playground instead. Another occasion is when he built the [[Wishing Well]], in order for customers to just "give up their money for a wish." But SpongeBob and Patrick "found the magic" and everyone's wishes came true.

In the episode short "The Endless Summer," Mr. Krabs attempts to pollute the environment in order for the temperature to rise, thereby having an endless summer. He did this so he could charge people to use the "Krusty Pool." Howard Blandy bought the Krusty Krab in "[[Selling Out]]" but he sold it back to Krabs at the end of the episode.

The Krusty Krab is one of the most successful restaurants in [[Bikini Bottom]]. It usually attracts customers (referred to as "Krustomers") from Bikini Bottom because it's cheap, has the good food, and Mr. Krabs is less cruel than his rival counterpart [[Sheldon J. Plankton]]. It is here where the customer always comes first and it is the customers who keep the restaurant afloat. In fact, there's even a POOP (People Order Our Patties) policy. When [[King Neptune]] accused and froze [[Eugene H. Krabs|Mr. Krabs]], the customers abandoned the restaurant and were lured into the Chum Bucket and then into evil, under the hands of [[Sheldon J. Plankton]]. There have also been times when the customers have abandoned the restaurant due to minor incidents. Regulars here include [[Patrick Star]], [[Sandy Cheeks]], [[Larry the Lobster]], [[Mrs. Puff]], [[Scooter]],[[Nat]], [[Harold]], [[Fred]], [[Tom]], [[Mermaid Man]], [[Barnacle Boy]], and others.

The Krusty Krab had only one location until Mr. Krabs opened a second restaurant, [[the Krusty Krab 2]], located next to the original. Mr. Krabs was inspired by money, as he has said in an interview with [[Perch Perkins]] of the [[Bikini Bottom News]]. Mr. Krabs held a grand opening ceremony regarding the opening of this new location. The Krusty Krab is far more successful than the Chum Bucket due primarily to the good food of the Krusty Krab, but also to the cruelty of [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton]] to other residents of [[Bikini Bottom]]. [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton]] has consistently tried to steal the "[[Krabby Patty Secret Formula|secret recipe]]" for the [[Krabby Patty]] so as to duplicate it and gain more customers, but he was always unsuccessful, until he gained control of the [[Krabby Patty]] secret formula (and the minds of Bikini Bottom's citizens) with his "Plan Z" in ''[[The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie]]''.

The Shell Shack is mentioned by Tom and Fred in one episode, "[[Patty Hype]]," because it has atmosphere and a talking/singing dog. The Shell Shack is likely the Krusty Krab's main competition. also, the [[Pretty Patties]] store was quite popular and could be said as 'Short time Competition. A fancy restaurant called: [[Fancy!]] is featured in a few episodes, yet probably is not to much of a competition to the Krusty Krab because only rich people can afford to eat there, with prices ranging from $100 to $100,000. [[Howard Blandy]] Franchising probably have some restaurants throughout [[Bikini Bottom]]. In the episode [[Best Frenemies]], another restaurant competed with The Krusty Krab called ''[[Kelp Shake Building|Kelpshake]]''. The Kelpshake restaurants expanded all across Bikini Bottom but were promptly shut down when their Kelpshake products turned out to be toxic. In [[The Masterpiece (Episode)|The Masterpiece]], [[The Sea Chicken Shack]] is yet another competitor to the Krusty Krab. Even though the place is an "absolute dump", the only highlight of the restaurant is a statue of their mascot, [[Mr. Sea Chicken]] that kids are allowed to climb and/or play on. Mr. Krabs responded to this by making [[Squidward Tentacles|Squidward]] make a statue of him. Unfortunately, the first one was unsafe to play on, so SpongeBob decided to paint Mr. Krabs gold and allow kids to play on him.

The '''Jellion King''' is an evil alien jellyfish who has the power to clone anything and make it a living thing. He appeared in [[Planet of the Jellyfish (Episode)|Planet of the Jellyfish]]. He [[Jellion Clones|cloned]] the [[Jellyfish]] and the entire population of [[Bikini Bottom]]. He kept the non clones in a ice shaped cocoon where had operated in the freezer of the [[Krusty Krab]]. He was defeated when the last drop of mayonnaise from the bottle in the freezer in the Krusty Krab when the heat was turned on. When he died he melted into green slim which later became a a menu option for the Krusty Krab. It was called Evil Clone Jelly Relish for $4 extra than regular Krabby Patties served with the patties.

The Krusty Krab is known for being established to sell the [[Krabby Patty]] burger. The Krabby Patty was invented by King Krabs, an ancestor of restaurant-founder Eugene H. Krabs as mentioned in the episode, "[[Dunces and Dragons]]". The recipe was kept secret for over 800 years. After the war, Eugene H. Krabs stayed secluded in a deep depression that seemed endless. He inherited his family's secret recipe for the Krabby Patty. Krabs was also a financial wizard, which made his business successful.

The building is known to have been converted from a retirement home known as the "[[Rusty Krab]]." Krabs merely painted a "K" in front of the word "Rusty," thus leading to the name "Krusty Krab", as mentioned in the episode, "[[Krusty Krab Training Video]]". SpongeBob is the first employee of the Krusty Krab to take a break since the Chum Famine of 59', mentioned in the episode [[Hooky]]. The Krusty Krab was almost run out of business from a minor competitor known as the Shell Shack, and once from SpongeBob's short-lived Pretty Patties stand. It also faces continual problems from its main competitor, the [[Chum Bucket]] and its owner, [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton]].

==Changes==

In the episode [[SB-129]], the entire Krusty Krab is spray painted in Chrome in the future and it has a built-in time machine. The only things that are not Chrome is a door hinge from the freezer door and the inside of the time machine. In the episode "[[Bossy Boots]]", Mr. Krabs hires Pearl to help the Krusty Krab while she is on summer break. With the help of SpongeBob, she changed the Krusty Krab into [[The Kuddly Krab]]. It is a Teen Hangout restaurant, which sold only tea and salad. The floor was made of carpet, and there were stuffed animals and other cuddly knickknacks as decorations.

The business failed because Pearl wanted to be fired, as she felt that it cut too much into her social life. SpongeBob took all the decorations home for one year's salary and the Krusty Krab went back to normal. In the episode "[[Squilliam Returns]]", Mr. Krabs lets Squidward temporarily transform the Krusty Krab into a fancy 5-Star restaurant. It was created so that Squidward could impress his highly successful unibrowed rival, [[Squilliam Fancyson]]. This plan failed due to SpongeBob's loss of memory and subsequent temporary insanity, which caused him to tear up the restaurant.

In the episode "[[Le Big Switch]]", a French "exchange chef" from the Fancy! restaurant becomes the cook at the Krusty Krab, and the Krusty Krab is transformed into a five-star French bistro, where Mr. Krabs is ecstatic because he can sell minuscule portions for very expensive prices, including a putrid dish which can only lose its stench by shredding gold on top of it. The French chef does this, much to Mr. Krabs disapproval. Squidward is also very happy because SpongeBob became an exchange chef and went to the Fancy! restaurant where his Krabby Patties were a huge hit even though it was not the type of cuisine suited for the Fancy! restaurant.

Eventually the Krusty Krab bistro goes out of business (they barely had any customers and Mr. Krabs even had to sell Squidward), but in the end SpongeBob brings all the Fancy! customers, who were demanding Krabby Patties to the Krusty Krab, bringing business back to normal. In the episode "[[Selling Out]]", Mr. Krabs was offered a large sum of money to sell the Krusty Krab. He accepted the deal and retired. The new management, the Blandy Franchising Company transformed the Krusty Krab into the [[Krabby O Mondays]]. It was a diner that generated Krabby Patties by machine. However, the secret ingredient was gray sludge. When Mr. Krabs took a job here as a result of retirement-boredom, he found this secret and eventually the diner was destroyed.

Then Blandy sold it back to Mr. Krabs for full price. In the episode "[[Skill Crane]]", Mr. Krabs adds a Skill Crane game to attract "paying costumers". In the episode "[[Wishing You Well]]", Mr. Krabs adds the Eugene Krabs Memorial Wishing Well.
In the episode "[[Krusty Towers]]," Mr. Krabs transformed the restaurant into a hotel in order to gain more profits. He created the Krusty Towers, which was a 17-story hotel that included an outdoor swimming pool, an indoor swimming pool, a lobby, guest elevator, and an employee elevator (actually a staircase.)

The Hotel was later destroyed when [[Patrick Star]] dived into a swimming pool (it was actually an oversize bathtub) and the swimming pool cracked and got destroyed, and the entire tower got destroyed, with the exception of the top floor (the actual Krusty Krab) In the episode "[[Driven to Tears]]", Mr. Krabs added a drive-thru to the restaurant because there were a lot of people "on the go" those days. However, the drive-thru is not seen in later episodes. In the episode "[[Krabs a la Mode]]", the restaurant is converted into an indoor ice rink, and later a swimming pool, all the while keeping its restaurant status. Plankton turned the thermostat down to bug Mr. Krabs, but success came soon after when the people went skating on frozen patties.

In the episode "[[Mermaidman vs SpongeBob (Episode)|Mermaidman vs SpongeBob]]", Mr. Krabs makes the Krusty Krab Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy themed. The restaurant then included a ball pit and had Krabby kids’ meals with a Mermaid Man figure and a Barnacle Boy eraser. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy also visited, but Plankton made Mermaid Man say he preferred the Chum Bucket over the Krusty Krab in front of the whole restaurant. In the episode, "[[The Krusty Sponge]]", Mr. Krabs, after receiving a review via the television from [[Gene Scallop]], added more sponginess to the Krusty Krab and renamed it the [[Krusty Sponge]].

He added a train around it. But then the soiled yellow "Spongy Patties" caused Mr. Krabs to be arrested. However, he made a deal with [[Judge Horace A. Whopper]], which was to have Squidward give him train rides on the train. In the episode, "[[Grandpappy the Pirate]]", Mr. Krabs, Spongebob, Patrick and Squidward transform the Krusty Krab in a pirate ship to impress Mr. Krab's grandfather. After his Grandpa almost discovers the truth, Mr. Krabs tells the truth by destroying the ship. In [[Jellyfish Hunter]] he added the jelly patty to the menu and put a sign out in the front of the Krusty Krab to try to get people to buy them.

Like the other buildings in [[Bikini Bottom]], the Krusty Krab does not have a constant floor plan. In most episodes, the Krusty Krab's floor plan consists of the main eating area (front part of building), Mr. Krabs' office (back left of building), bathrooms (back right of building) and the kitchen (back center of building). The kitchen features a back door which leads to the dumpster, a walk-in freezer, and a door leading to Mr. Krabs' office. Next to the restroom there is a storage closet, as seen in [[Imitation Krabs]].

In addition, the Krusty Krab has a two-story ceiling. The kitchen, restrooms, and Mr. Krabs' office are all one-story. On top of these three rooms is a storage area, as seen in most episodes. Also, in one episode it was shown that there is a Patty Vault and a Krabby Patty burning furnace in the kitchen which contains a supply of pre-made Krabby Patties. There is also a vat full of tartar sauce in the kitchen in "[[Imitation Krabs]]." In [[SB-129]], the future Krusty Krab has a similar, yet somewhat different layout.

The walk-in freezer is still the same, but there is a door to the right of it, which could be the back door. There is a hallway with a can-opener and a time machine, which is behind the far right door. Another door leads to the main eatery area, although it was never shown. The building's design is based on a New England lobster trap. There are two [[LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants]] sets based on the Krusty Krab. In the front, the Krusty Krab has a parking area, even though cars are usually not seen in it, as well as 5 flags on the roof of the Krusty Krab.

These flags spell out R, I, U, K. In the back of the Krusty Krab, a dumpster is seen in most episodes. (One episode featured the dumpster across the street.) Inside Mr. Krabs' office, on his desk sits a Bikini Bottom Bell Telephone that is chrome in color, and is corded. It has a mechanical bell ringer, and has no dial pad. It does have what may be a rotary dial with no numbers. This is seen seldom.

Despite Mr Krabs cheapness, several episodes show the Krusty Krab has several pieces of state of the art technology, its also shown on several occasions to have many secret passages and secret rooms, for example there is a secret trap door opened by turning the mustache on on of Mr Krabs picture, that leads to a tunnel under the floor, leading to another trap door, next to the exit (Gullible Pants).

Its also shown to have a telescopic platform (Spy Business, Whelk Attack), and a subterranean network of tunnels and air vents (Truth or Square), it is also shown to have a surveillance room, where Mr Krabs monitor cameras he has illegally in several peoples houses (Truth or Square) and an emergency meeting room (Chum Bucket Supreme)

It has a storage room as seen in [[Accidents Will Happen (Episode)|Accidents Will Happen]]. Other features include such as [[Krusty Krab Stand]], [[Krusty Krab's Videoroom]], [[Krusty Krab's Air Vents]], [[Wishing Well]], [[Drive-thru]], [[Patty Vault]], and [[Trash Chute|Trash Room]].

==Business hours==

The Krusty Krab is usually open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, except on Tuesdays which it stays open until 8:00 p.m. On Sundays, the Krusty Krab is usually closed, although in "[[Squid's Day Off]]" it was open on Sunday, but SpongeBob and Squidward forgot to change the "CLOSED" sign to "OPEN". The restaurant was once open for 24 hours a day for at least 43 days, as a result of [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton's]] plan to keep the [[Chum Bucket]] open 23 hours a day. It is uncertain how long the streak lasted after the 43 days because Mr. Krabs was too tired to remember.

After SpongeBob had a mental breakdown due to exhaustion, and Plankton's plan was thwarted, the Krusty Krab was open for 23 hours a day. It's assumed that the Krusty Krab returned to its usual hours, since later episodes show the employees closing at 12:00 a.m. In "[[New Digs]]", a rule is shown that all employees must arrive on the premises and be punched in by 8:00 a.m. As shown in the episode "[[Graveyard Shift]]," the Krusty Krab was opened for night shifts for at least one night, because of a comment from a customer to Mr. Krabs saying that he would pay money for a Krabby Patty at night.

In [[Fear of a Krabby Patty]], SpongeBob, Krabs, and Squidward were open for 43 days straight by a plan made by [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton]] to exhaust SpongeBob by making him cook 10,000 Krabby Patties.

==Advertising and marketing==

There are various ways Mr. Krabs uses to advertise the Krusty Krab. The Company's slogan is ''"Come spend your money here."'' Besides having a large sign nearby the building to advertise to road travelers, the Krusty Krab is featured on billboards throughout Sand Mountain. Mr. Krabs once filmed a television commercial in order to gain customers. [[Squidward Tentacles|Squidward]] was the director at first, but then Mr. Krabs directed it to save money since Squidward's commercial plans were too expensive. Mr. Krabs got a prime time special to run the 90-second commercial, at 3:28 AM. The commercial featured Pearl (playing Amy) and Squidward (in a wig, playing Jenny) as teenagers getting their first [[Krabby Patty]] served by [[Eugene H. Krabs|Mr. Krabs]].

It only showed SpongeBob's pants by the grill and forehead inside the kitchen window. Even from this, he was excited to be in the commercial. ''See episode: "[[As Seen on TV]]".'' Another commercial was a Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy cartoon. In it, Man Ray was going to saw them in half. Then, Barnacle Boy said, "He's unstoppable like the delicious taste of a Krabby Kid's Meal." Man Ray then stopped the machine and took the Krabby Kid's Meal to eat it. He was also tied up. Mr. Krabs always tries to find ways to get more customers, by trying to have an addition to the Krusty Krab. His additions are usually cheap and junky. One example is [[Krabby Land Park]], where kids can have fun. It had a slide (which broke down), hose land (hoses over a stick), and other junky playground equipment. He built it so that kids would come and buy Krabby Patties since they were hanging out at the new playground instead. Another occasion is when he built the [[Wishing Well]], in order for customers to just "give up their money for a wish." But SpongeBob and Patrick "found the magic" and everyone's wishes came true.

In the episode short "The Endless Summer," Mr. Krabs attempts to pollute the environment in order for the temperature to rise, thereby having an endless summer. He did this so he could charge people to use the "Krusty Pool." In the episode "[[Driven to Tears]]," Mr. Krabs transforms the Krusty Krab into a drive-through since Patrick had a new boat mobile (similar to a car). Another way Mr. Krabs tries to attract customers is to hold social events in the Krusty Krab. In "[[Culture Shock]]," Mr. Krabs held "The [[Squidward Tentacles]] Talent Show" and in [[Squirrel Jokes]], Mr. Krabs held a comedy show called [[Komedy Krab|The Komedy Krab]].In [[No Hat For Pat]],Patrick was the Falling Fool and sign holder.

This is enough evidence that the menu is similar to that of Checkers Drive-In, McDonald's or Burger King/Hungry Jack's. They have also sold pizzas ("Pizza Delivery") and a once-free salad bar (now $1) at times. The Krusty Krab menu is always featured differently in different episodes. The Krusty Krab also serves French fries, but only in some episodes.

The Galley Grub is the menu of the Krusty Krab. The menu is shown differently at times. The menus contain meals, sides, and beverages. The [[Krabby Patty]] is present on every menu ever shown. ==Owner==

The owner of the Krusty Krab has always been [[Eugene H. Krabs]]. However, ownership changed in "[[Patty Hype]]" when Mr. Krabs gave SpongeBob the restaurant temporarily. In "[[The Algae's Always Greener]]," if Plankton were successful, he would be owner of the Krusty Krab. Howard Blandy bought the Krusty Krab in "[[Selling Out]]" but he sold it back to Krabs at the end of the episode.

There are two full time employees, [[SpongeBob SquarePants|SpongeBob]], who is mainly the fry cook, and [[Squidward Tentacles]] who is mainly the cashier.

Squidward Tentacles is the oldest known employee. He works full-time as the head cashier in most episodes. Squidward was the fry cook in "[[Bubble Buddy]]" during SpongeBob's day off, and in "[[Pickles]]" when SpongeBob lost his confidence. His 'on time percentage' is twelve percent.

Throughout the entire series, the amount Mr. Krabs pays his employees varies. According to SpongeBob in [[Big Pink Loser]], when he started working Mr. Krabs charged him $100 an hour, but when Patrick began working he charged him $50 an hour. It is unclear whether SpongeBob and Squidward get different pay, but in many episodes it is almost clear how much they get paid. In "[[Squeaky Boots]]," SpongeBob's paycheck consists of an envelope of money. In "[[Dying for Pie]]," Squidward mentions that he gets paid at minimum wage. In "[[Bossy Boots]]," when Mr. Krabs attempts to get rid of all the stuff he bought for the Kuddly Krab, he sells them to SpongeBob for one year’s salary.

This includes music, carpet, furniture, and stuffed animals. In "[[Skill Crane]]," Mr. Krabs gives SpongeBob and Squidward their paychecks, which consists of an envelope of money for SpongeBob and a bag of quarters for Squidward. The Krusty Krab is one of the most successful restaurants in [[Bikini Bottom]]. It usually attracts customers (referred to as "Krustomers") from Bikini Bottom because it's cheap, has the good food, and Mr. Krabs is less cruel than his rival counterpart [[Sheldon J. Plankton]]. It is here where the customer always comes first and it is the customers who keep the restaurant afloat. In fact, there's even a POOP (People Order Our Patties) policy. When [[King Neptune]] accused and froze [[Eugene H. Krabs|Mr. Krabs]], the customers abandoned the restaurant and were lured into the Chum Bucket and then into evil, under the hands of [[Sheldon J. Plankton]]. There have also been times when the customers have abandoned the restaurant due to minor incidents. Regulars here include [[Patrick Star]], [[Sandy Cheeks]], [[Larry the Lobster]], [[Mrs. Puff]], [[Scooter]],[[Nat]], [[Harold]], [[Fred]], [[Tom]], [[Mermaid Man]], [[Barnacle Boy]], and others.

==Additional Locations==

The Krusty Krab had only one location until Mr. Krabs opened a second restaurant, [[the Krusty Krab 2]], located next to the original. Mr. Krabs was inspired by money, as he has said in an interview with [[Perch Perkins]] of the [[Bikini Bottom News]]. Mr. Krabs held a grand opening ceremony regarding the opening of this new location. [[Episodes]] shown after [[The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie|the movie]] was released, The Krusty Krab 2 is not there. The [[Chum Bucket]], owned by [[Sheldon J. Plankton]], a competitor, is across the street. The Krusty Krab is far more successful than the Chum Bucket due primarily to the good food of the Krusty Krab, but also to the cruelty of [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton]] to other residents of [[Bikini Bottom]]. [[Sheldon J. Plankton|Plankton]] has consistently tried to steal the "[[Krabby Patty Secret Formula|secret recipe]]" for the [[Krabby Patty]] so as to duplicate it and gain more customers, but he was always unsuccessful, until he gained control of the [[Krabby Patty]] secret formula (and the minds of Bikini Bottom's citizens) with his "Plan Z" in ''[[The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie]]''.

The Shell Shack is mentioned by Tom and Fred in one episode, "[[Patty Hype]]," because it has atmosphere and a talking/singing dog. The Shell Shack is likely the Krusty Krab's main competition. also, the [[Pretty Patties]] store was quite popular and could be said as 'Short time Competition. A fancy restaurant called: [[Fancy!]] is featured in a few episodes, yet probably is not to much of a competition to the Krusty Krab because only rich people can afford to eat there, with prices ranging from $100 to $100,000. [[Howard Blandy]] Franchising probably have some restaurants throughout [[Bikini Bottom]]. In the episode [[Best Frenemies]], another restaurant competed with The Krusty Krab called ''[[Kelp Shake Building|Kelpshake]]''. The Kelpshake restaurants expanded all across Bikini Bottom but were promptly shut down when their Kelpshake products turned out to be toxic. In [[The Masterpiece (Episode)|The Masterpiece]], [[The Sea Chicken Shack]] is yet another competitor to the Krusty Krab. Even though the place is an "absolute dump", the only highlight of the restaurant is a statue of their mascot, [[Mr. Sea Chicken]] that kids are allowed to climb and/or play on. Mr. Krabs responded to this by making [[Squidward Tentacles|Squidward]] make a statue of him. Unfortunately, the first one was unsafe to play on, so SpongeBob decided to paint Mr. Krabs gold and allow kids to play on him.

The '''Jellion King''' is an evil alien jellyfish who has the power to clone anything and make it a living thing. He appeared in [[Planet of the Jellyfish (Episode)|Planet of the Jellyfish]]. He [[Jellion Clones|cloned]] the [[Jellyfish]] and the entire population of [[Bikini Bottom]]. He was defeated when the last drop of mayonnaise from the bottle in the freezer in the [[Krusty Krab]] heat was turned on. When he died he melted into green slim which later became a a menu option for the Krusty Krab. It was called Evil Clone Jelly Relish for $4 extra than regular Krabby Patties served with the patties.

'''Glove World''' is a theme park. It was first introduced in the episode [[Rock Bottom]]. Its theme is gloves, as the name says. There are varieties of glove themed items found at the carnival, such as, but not limited to:

*Glove flavored candy in the shape of gloves

Glove World is depicted to be SpongeBob and Patrick's favorite theme park. It appears in the episodes [[Rock Bottom]], [[Roller Cowards]], and [[Tunnel of Glove (Episode)]]. Patrick mentions that there are mostly "dumb kiddie rides." In the episode [[Roller Cowards]], a new roller coaster called the [[Fiery Fist O Pain|Fiery Fist O' Pain]] was built at Glove World. It took SpongeBob and Patrick a while to actually to ride the ride. After they go on it, they love it and want to do it again, not knowing that they had lost their spines. All of the employees there (except the overly enthusiastic ticket man) seem to hate their job. There is also a mascot, Glovey the Glove World mascot, whom Patrick is afraid of.

Chaos ensues when [[Pearl]] is forced to go with [[SpongeBob]] in the [[Tunnel of Glove (Place)|Tunnel of Glove]] when the ride gets stuck and they can't get out. Meanwhile Patrick, having been tipped off by the news, tries to help, but destroys the ride by ripping off the battery, believing it to be SpongeBob.

'''Sea Whelks''' are tiny creatures who's appearance was huge because they were sick. They only appeared in [[Whelk Attack (Episode)|Whelk Attack]]. They attacked the city by blowing a bubble large enough to capture people and buildings from [[Bikini Bottom]]. They have eaten the [[Krusty Krab]] and other buildings and they people they have eaten where [[SpongeBob SquarePants|SpongeBob]], [[Patrick Star]], [[Sandy Cheeks|Sandy]], [[Squidward Tentacles|Squidward]], [[Mr.Krabs]] and other Bikini Bottom citizens. They are similar to snails. Their shells look similar to hermit crab shells. When they were cured, they have baby mammoth sounds.
